Collaborative at Its Core

A new connected ecosystem for researchers in the fields of cell biology, cancer, microbiology, microbiome, diabetes, and immunology. The Bakar Research and Academic Building will encourage multidisciplinary collaboration, with close proximity to UCSF Health patient care to rapidly advance discoveries from laboratories to patients’ bedsides.

Community and Communal Spaces

This thoughtful campus-community integration begins with an inviting entrance on Parnassus Avenue and extends to outdoor gathering areas, a grand staircase and adjacent elevator for hillside access, and a sheltered overlook to enjoy the striking westward views.
